Spring 2012 Trends

Here are some fashion trends for Spring 2012...
(These are just some random ones I selected...there are many more)

I like some of them and others I am not a fan of. Which do you like?

The Animal:
Designers used hummingbirds, swans, and pheasants in their bold creations this season—from abstract, graceful lines to three-dimensional birds perched on the chest and shoulders.

Pastels:
Versace to Vuitton, knee-length to floor-length, designers gave the season a sense of airiness with a range of pastel tones.

Peplum:
From Jason Wu to YSL, the peplum reigned supreme. Whether worked into a blouse or jacket, the flared design is this season’s must-have accoutrement.

Drop Waist: Shapeless flapper-style dresses are trending this season, with some designers modernizing the 1920s style by drawing the line just around the hips.

Body part: The midsection
Whether fully visible or through a window of fabric, flashes of skin revealed tight abs this season.

Metallics:
When design extremes like Calvin Klein and Hervé Léger are both offering enticing silvers and golds, it's safe to say metallics will be a strong fashion force for Spring. While HL offered us sexy gladiator styles, Elie Tahari and Chado Ralph Rucci dazzled with shining shifts.
 Brush Your Shoulder Off:
The sexiest show of skin this season on the runway? The shoulders. Oscar de la Renta romanced us with a white gathered gauzy ensemble while Rodarte offered a dramatic artistic interpretation of the trend. We're certain we'll see Marchesa's ecru creation floating across the red carpet in no time.
Color-Blocking:
It looks like the color-blocking trend isn't going anywhere, folks! From Victoria Beckham's sleek sheaths to Marc by Marc Jacobs' mod shift shirt dresses, the play with contrast is here to stay. For another season, anyway.

My Fashion Icon: Lauren Conrad

AKA: LC

I first heard about Lauren Conrad when I watched the show "Laguna Beach." That is when I really started liking her. I thought she was beautiful and had great style. Then, I started liking her even more on the show"The Hills." That show was mainly about her studying fashion and her internship. She also has some books out now such as L.A. Candy and Lauren Conrad Style (which I read both). I love her line at Kohl's because it is super cute and not too expensive. LC is a busy girl right now as she is working on completeing her fifth book, The Fame Game, expanding her existing brands, and coming out with new ones! "Do something that you love, surround yourself with people you trust, learn from your mistakes, work hard, and don’t let other people’s opinions of you become your limitations" -Lauren Conrad.
